Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a couple things that might save you some trouble and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Long Beach and the last thing you want is to find out is that you need AC repair. Going through this simple checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of things to check because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can clog your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the ideal time to arrange your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 562-286-6624.
